What is Healing Water or Holy Water?

Updated: Jan 21, 2022

Water is a truly miraculous substance that people rarely seem to consider deeply.

Water and oxygen are fundamental to life on earth, yet people appear to take them for granted. Perhaps we are now waking up.

The fact is, that water has its own unique qualities that nothing else possesses. Its wetness, for one thing is unique. Anything that is wet in our known universe likely contains at least SOME water. Its clarity is another. What else in the universe has such clarity yet still contains mass? Heaviness? Water is soft and smooth, yet it can carve rocks. Even fire cannot survive when enough water is introduced.

Another characteristic of water which is becoming more known in popular

culture is water's ability to hold memory. As a liquid crystal, it records everything that touches it and that it touches. This can include images or vibrations; sound and light. It can record words, chants, mantras, This property of water was made known by the Japanese scientist Dr. Masaru Emoto (1943-2014) who wrote the NY Times best seller: The Hidden Messages in Water.

Considered pseudoscience by mainstream establishment science, his work offers not only fascinating concepts to contemplate regarding this "mundane" substance, but implies a reservoir of healing potential that is available to all, for free: water and our consciousness.

Dr. Emoto considered water to be a template or "blueprint of reality" and found that thoughts, words and emotions can alter its structure. Scoffed at by the mainstream, he carried on with his fascinating research providing pictorial evidence of the vibrational nature of reality. His work demonstrates how water captures "snapshots" of energy which can be viewed pictorially via crystalline shapes frozen in ice.

He experimented by exposing water samples to words, sounds and images before freezing it and then examining the ice crystals which formed. He discovered that sounds and images of kindness and love produced symmetric, complex and highly organized crystal structures, whereas those samples exposed to negative intentions or vibrations produced a chaotic

pattern, with no cohesive structure. He also collected samples of naturally occurring water from sources such as lakes, water falls and springs from different locations around the world. He looked at tap water from big cities and found each sample to yield its own unique crystalline signature.

Samples from wild places that were clean, such as waterfalls and rivers often showed the beautiful symmetrical snowflake like pattern. Whereas samples from Tokyo or LA tap water yielded discordant shapes with no cohesive struture. The photograph above shows an ice crystal take from water that was exposed to the words "love and gratitude", the one below show the crystal formed from water shown the phrase "I can't do it".

The consistent feature that he found was the six-pointed or "hexagonal" structure that the crystals from pure sources would form. It has been noted by other researchers in this field of study such as MJ Pangman that the more organized and symmetrical a crystal becomes, the more energy it is able to hold, transduce and amplify. This would also apply to water crystals. This is the science and rational behind water structuring products. Structured water is more organized in its molecular structure and thus "wetter" and capable of providing enhanced hydration.

Now, after Dr. Emoto's death, his legacy lives on and is becoming more and more known, with products and technologies based on his discoveries of "hexagonal" water.

The fact that mainstream science never took his work seriously is not surprising and certainly does not invalidate his claims and exhaustive work. His work stands out as an incredibly unique contribution empowering ordinary people to raise their consciousness not only about the quality of water they are drinking, but also about the emotions they are holding. Since our bodies are roughly 70% water, one can extrapolate by reflecting on what our own emotional energy is doing to the molecular structure of our very blood.

His work also inspires the individual with ideas to treat their own water before they drink it. For example, gratitude was one of the words or vibrations which produced one of the most beautiful water crystals. Seeing the actual crystalline form can help us understand why people pray over their food, (and water).

Here we can bring in the concept of holy water. Could it be that "holy water" or healing water is water that has a very unique and highly organized crystalline structure?

In the East, the creation of holy water is very common. In Sri Lanka, the Buddhist monks will included "chanted" or blessed water as part of a ritual performed on any number of occasions to bless a family, individual, couple, house or business. It is also used as a remedy for health, relational or financial problems. A pot of water is tied with a string, and the string is held by everyone taking part in the ceremony. Verses of the Buddhist scriptures are chanted, and then the "chanted" or holy water is distributed to all present to drink and to take home. The empowering factor of course being the intentions of all present as well as the vibrations of the mantras chanted, infused with the wisdom of the Buddha.

Dr. Emoto also looked at "chanted" or blessed water in his experiments. The crystal in the photo below right is from a water crystal after the water was blessed with the Japanese Buddhist mantra Ha-nya-shin-gyo.

In India, water is poured over a stature or sculpture, (often a Shiva Lingham) while mantras are recited. The water is then distributed and consumed for healing and blessings.

In the West, many have heard of the mysteries of Lourdes: a sacred spring in France where visions of the Virgin Mary appeared to the peasant girl Bernadette Soubrious (who was later canonized) on eighteen different occasions. Our Lady of Lourdes would appear with the instruction "drink at the spring and bathe in it". Since that time Lourdes has been the destination of thousands of pilgrims seeking healing and well being. The water is considered "non liturgical" holy water. "Although never formally encouraged by the Church, Lourdes water has become a focus of devotion to the Virgin Mary at Lourdes."~ Wikipedia

The spring water was analyzed after discovery and was determined to be potable.

The water was shown to to contain oxygen, nitrogen, carbonic acid, charbonates of lime and magesium, iron, and alkaline carbonates potassium, sodium as wellk as sulphates, and traces of iodine.

The picture at right shows the ice crystal (Dr. Emoto's work) formed by Lourdes water. Perhaps its graceful symmetric structure is responsible to its healing properties? Perhaps it's this structure holds the secret of its healing powers?
